So last night I had forgotten to warm my soup and had slept off. I woke up this morning to find it sour. I wasn’t happy at all. Especially with the fact that I had just cooked it a day before. I couldn’t stop blaming myself.
I brought out the pot and placed it angrily outside. My neighbor who had seen me drop the full pot of soup outside asked.
“Neighbour, you go warm am?” “No. E spoil. I wan trowey am.” “You no warm am last night?” “I forget. Sleep carry me for night.” “Eyaaa…”
I returned into the house to bring out other plates to wash. When I got back, I found her licking her fingers.
“E no too bad o. The soup good small. You sure say you no need am?” I glared at the sour pot of soup and at her. “No, I no need am”
“Okay. Make my pikin them come carry am. Dem go use am chop eba this morning. E go finish. The way dem go rush this soup now go shock you. If the soup reach three days seff, e try.”
Before I could find words to say to her she picked up the pot of soup and dashed into her house speedily. Probably trying to hurry up before I changed my mind about giving her the soup again. Her first son returned with the empty pot and handed it over to me. “Thank you.” He muttered.
The daughter, a five-year-old, popped her head through the window and smiled, “Uncle Praise, thank you.”
The twin children ran out playfully and said to me. “Uncle Praise thank you.”
And their mother finally emerged laughing. “See how them dey happy, they don see food.”
Tears gathered up in my eyes. I ran into my room and cried like a child. How one man’s poison becomes another man’s food. How one man’s fish becomes another man’s chicken. How one man’s rag is another man’s Christmas cloth. How my sour soup, turned into another woman’s thanksgiving.
Value whatever you have. Appreciate whatever you enjoy. For another man somewhere, searches immensely for what you have, and wishes to own just half of what you own
When I was a little girl, I was told that seeds could germinate from my belly and become trees. So I tried my best to not swallow them, or better still avoid them completely.
As I grew up, I knew better and often referred back to that tale as a “big fat lie”. Was it? Now that I’ve given thought to it, there just might be some molecules of truth enshrouded by that ball of lie.
What do I mean? Our minds are like fertile ground and like every other land, you can choose to nurture it into either a healthy garden or a poisonous one. It all depends on what specie of seed you sow; it depends on what breed of words you swallow.
When people throw condescending words at you or even when your thoughts betray you and allow these unhealthy phantasms to sneak in, you can choose to act like the little girl. Spit them out or avoid them.
Why? Because if you continue to ruminate on them, you begin to conform to those negativities subconsciously as you have given them enough room to thrive and expand their roots. These toxic roots infuse doses of “I can’t” into your belief system which in turn affects your productivity.
That being said, what kind of seeds will you swallow today?
You’re not a counterfeit nor an alternative. You’re not fake neither an option. You were not an afterthought. Your creation was intentional and deliberate. All that is needed for your purpose has been bestowed on you from the onset and only you posses the abilities needed for the fulfilment of that purpose. You’re an original!

What is life without making any impact? Wasted! Impact is simply your good deed, your sacrifices and kind gesture towards others, what you will be forever remembered for, in the lives of those you deeply touched.
Many lived longer, yet no impact. Adam the first man lived 960 years of no impact. Despite God satisfying Methuselah with the longest life any man could ever live, 969 years, yet no impact. Though in other faith, Methuselah is regarded as a prophet. His appearance in Genesis was brief. His father, Enoch had the shortest lifespan in his time, 365years, walked with God so much that he never saw death – Genesis 5:21-24. Enoch’s grandson, Noah lived a life of impact to be forever remembered.
Our Lord Jesus Christ lived 33 years of impact. He made the greatest impact ever, forever remembered for his love and sacrifices paid on the cross. At age 12, he started impacting lives, teaching men the gospel of truth and hope. Again, he made a remarkable impact in the marriage at Cana in Galilee, miraculously turning water into wine at the point when all hope were lost for the married couples and family; he came through for Mary and Martha when Lazarus, their brother was laid to rest. Jesus’s fame went abroad. The Bible says – Jesus went about doing good, making great impacts.
Severally, Jesus healed the brokenhearted and recovery of sight to the blind, raised the dead back to life and fulfilled his mission on earth. He made a very big difference, suffered and bled for our sins, and took upon himself our guilt, shame and sins. He brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light; all these he did within short period of time.
Making A Difference starts with determination, passion and love for the things of God. Abraham was serious for God, He passionately followed and loved God with all his heart; he impacted his family, showing them the way of the LORD. As a result of his faithfulness to God, he was blessed beyond measures and his blessings extended to his children, including you and I, children of Abraham by covenant.
Working for God is both rewarding and challenging. As a worker of God or a kingdom labourer, you’re a role model to many; you are there to help others grow as Disciples of Jesus Christ, and there as a Counselor to help those who are discouraged, giving them more reasons why serving God pays.
You make impact and become recognized by doing your best, putting smiles on people’s faces, making a difference and contributing to the growth of wherever you find yourself. Making Impact requires extraordinary efforts, sacrifice and dedication; it requires patience and determination to succeed. Making Impact doesn’t happen through laziness, but hardwork, it doesn’t come through eye-service, but heart-service. Reach-out! Make An Impact!
NEVER BLAME GOD FOR ANY SITUATION YOU FIND YOURSELF
One day, a man decided to travel by ship with his friends. While in the middle of their journey, the boat began to sink. Everyone tried to escape by swimming but it was all in vain. All drowned except this man who succeeded in clinging to a floating object. With the effect of strong winds, the object took him very far, to a small island where there were no men or animals, just a few insects.
With the sweat of his brow, he managed to build a small box entirely made of straw. He stayed there for several days eating fruits and began to get used to his new life of suffering (even if he did not get used to it). He eventually began to lose all hope of seeing his family again any day.
Every night he lit a fire in front of his house to warm himself. One evening, as usual, he lit the fire. He stayed there for a long time until he dozed off. Late in the night, he was awakened by an overwhelming heat: It was his straw hut that caught fire. He cried, accusing and blaming God, shouting, “Oh God, what have I done to you to hurt me so?
You separated me from my family to bring me to this deserted island, then you killed all my friends and now you let my hut burn. Why are you so hard on me? It is better to die because I am tired of living in this suffering!”
But at dawn, he saw a small boat coming towards him. When the boat landed, he ran straight for the captain and said to him in astonishment, “Captain, how did you get here?” No boat can get there unless he gets lost. ” The captain replied, “In the night we saw a fire and we thought it was a burning boat, and we did not arrive immediately because the journey was long.
We thought that you used the fire in order for us to find you. “The man cried, fell on his knees and asked God for forgiveness, and he got into the boat and went home and reunited with his family.
LESSON: God has many ways of solving our problems. You can lose a job and think that God has left you when He wants to give you a better job. Your friends can leave you, do not believe that the LORD has rejected you, He wants to keep you away from bad companies.
Do not curse your God even if you suffer, keep faith and hope, He will act. This message is a blessing. Do not keep it! Please, do as I have done!! Send it to all those who are dear to you.
